Research fun

I found a house for Tora.  It’s in Chicago–currently for sale for only $4,475,000.  I’m thinking at some point I’ll have to make a trip to Chicago to see the house and the area surrounding it.  I need to tour Willis Tower,  eat at the Corner Bakery, and see the Skydeck.  I also need to tour Trump International Hotel and Tower, and some other places as well.  I wonder if some guy will allow me to tour his luxury bachelor pad/condo?  Oh, and I need to find a mansion hidden somewhere in Chicago as well.

I’m also going to have to learn martial arts, sword fighting and knife fighting.  I think my fight scenes would be a lot better with that knowledge, even if I just get a few lessons in.

I’m also going to find someone to explain other questions I have–what does it feel like to slice someone’s head off with a sword? Or stab someone in the heart? How about ripping someone’s heart out of his chest with nothing but your bare hands? Or, how about ripping someone apart limb by limb, again with nothing but your bare hands? I know–quite grotesque and morbid, right? Unfortunately, these are things that happen in Tora’s world. I have a feeling I’m going to have to rely on my imagination for those questions, though.

P.S. There are a few scenes that you won’t want to read while eating.

P.S.S. Yes, my books are kind of a combination urban fantasy/horror.  Not super grotesque horror, but just enough to make you a little sick to your stomach…

Be cautious of getting bogged down in description. It’s okay to leave some things to the reader’s imagination.

I’m really impressed with your writing skills as well as with the layout on your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it’s rare to see a nice blog like this one nowadays..
