Edits, pages, and balls…Oh my!

I’m moving along with my edits, now on chapter 11. It takes me 2 or 3 days to edit a chapter since I only get a couple of hours each night to work on the book. My regular job has picked up so I don’t have time during the day to write. -sigh-

The scene I was working on last night was pretty fun. Tora got back at a jackass by “accidentally” pouring a drink down his 300+ dollar shirt (and this happened while she was at work). Now, tonight I have to figure out what his reaction will be. So far, he’s pissed but keeping his distance since she threatened that if he got any closer, she’d make him choke on his balls.

Here’s a one-line excerpt:  “He rocked to a halt and stepped back, glancing down at my feet. Yeah, bud-dy. These shoes could deliver some serious hurt.” ©

I’m also adding to the page count in each chapter, about 5 pages per chapter. Oh, and I also changed the timeline what with Tora being basically unconscious for a day. (That’s the chapter where she winds up in bed with some dude she barely knows, hehe).

I’ve got a deadline now. I need to be done by April 26th (at the very latest) so I can attend the writer’s conference in April. My house is sort of in disarray since I’m spending any free time writing.  When I get this book published, the first thing I’m going to do is hire a housekeeper…and a yard person since my yard looks like crap too.

Editing is the worst part of writing to me. Once I finish getting all the ideas down I want the editing to just happen like magic. Reading the same story or scene over and over always makes start to dislike it a little.

Your novel sounds really exciting and right up my alley. I will read it as soon as it is released.

I’ve done so much editing, I’ve basically written a new book! This round of editing I’m liking a lot more since the base is there, I’m just expanding on it. Except, I keep coming up with new ideas and then go back and edit some more. Hopefully I won’t get so bogged down with editing that it never gets finished.
