With warmer weather comes…bugs.

We’ve had this nice, unseasonably warm weather the last few days. Apparently we’re skipping spring and going straight to summer.  Today, I now have these tiny little flies coming in through my screens. I hate bugs. They fly around and then they die shortly after, so I now have a bunch of dead, tiny flies. I’ve never had this before, so I’m hoping this will be over soon and the bugs are gone. Ugh.

Oh, and don’t forget the mosquitos. Yeah, I’ve already been bitten by a mosquito. It’s the middle of freakin’ March and the mosquitos are already out.

Thing 2 was upset that her school didn’t turn the air-conditioning on.  Again, it’s only mid-March, too early for air-conditioning! But hey, if it’s 80 degrees out, why not? Especially when you’re stuck in a classroom with a bunch of sweaty, smelly kids. Normally the kids aren’t allowed to wear shorts and flip-flops until after spring break, but Thing 3 told me the principal  announced at her school that they can wear shorts now. Thing 2 didn’t say anything about that, but since it’s all the same school system, the policy should be the same.

So, since Thing 1 and I are heading down south tomorrow for his college visit, it should be even warmer. I’m pulling out the summer clothes  now.

Now watch, when April comes we’ll get snow.

It’s such a weird year – at least we got some rain today….ground about to start cracking…except now we’ll have even more mosquitoes. I hear some school districts may be actually end the school year earlier since few snow days have been used….kids will be happy about that!

My kids would be in heaven if school let out early. They probably won’t do that here though. We’ve actually had snow days, not for snow but for fog. Go figure. We didn’t use any snow days until February. Yeah, fog in February, LOL
