Another one gets filed away.

I’m editing chapter 22 and only have six more chapters to go! Woo-hoo! Chapter 19 was a doozy to edit. I had to do a lot of rewriting because that chapter is pivotal to the plotline for the rest of the series and the book as well. I read somewhere (can’t remember where) that when writing a series you have two plots, one for the story your working on and one for the series as a whole. I hadn’t really thought about that, not consciously anyways. I just knew that if A happened in book 1, then B would happen in book 2 and so forth. I have an idea of where I want to go with the series, but things can always change. I’m not the plan-it-all-out writer. I’m the seat-of-my-pants writer. I can’t say I’m going to write a 6-book series, plan each one out beforehand and know that’s how things are going to go and stick with it. Rather I write down ideas for the next book as I write this one, because I like to add clues and foreshadow.

Chapters 20 and 21 were mostly adding stuff in. I doubled the page count in chapter 20, going from 8 to 16 pages. I’m about a week ahead of my schedule which is nice. The bad part about having a schedule is I don’t get to go out and enjoy this nice weather! I would love to be able to go outside, work in the yard, get the garden planted, but I just don’t have time. Maybe once Chicago is over, then I will…we’ll see.

The Spring Fling in Chicago is coming up fast. I received word that Sherrilyn Kenyon won’t be able to make it, which I was hoping to meet her. Oh well. It’ll still be a good time and I’ll still get a lot out of it, which is the whole point of going anyways.
