Things are coming along now.

I finished editing my chapters, and ended up with 519 pages and 124,714 words. I”ve been going through and doing some clean up with the chapters, making sure I have the right words (like our rather than are), that my sentence structure is correct, and that my grammar and punctuation are correct. I’m also doing some light editing. If I don’t like the wording, I’ll switch things around, but no major changes or anything. I have taken out parts of scenes, however. Originally I had almost 126,000 words but have cut that down some, but that wordcount will change again. Oh, and I also changed the title…though I’m keeping that a secret for now. -grin-

I must say, though, that I’ve read over this thing so many times, I’m starting to get sick of it. Do any of you writers out there feel that way about your work? Don’t get me wrong, I love my story, I’m just sick of reading it over and over again. It’s nice though that since I was so far ahead in my schedule, I can take my time with this last once-over. I should be done by the end of next week.

I’ve actually had time to go outside and do a little bit of yard work. I got some leaves cleared out, but I still need to get the yard cleared for mowing, get the weeds pulled out of the flowers, trim some trees and bushes, you know, all that spring stuff. Thing 2 has helped me a little. Thing 3, however, steers clear of any yard work. Actually, she steers clear of any type of cleaning.  I’ve even tried paying her a dollar to clean. You know what she does? She tells Thing 2, “I’ll give you my dollar if you clean for me.” Thing 1 is working with his friend’s family lawncare business, so when he gets home the last thing he wants to do is work in the yard at home. -sigh-

Sooo jealous that you’re in the editing stage. I wish I could “beam” my novel from my brain into my laptop in the form of a manuscript. I’d still edit it myself, I promise. Haha

Wouldn’t that be cool? Maybe in the next 50 years someone will come up with the technology to do just that…:)

Always good to get outside when you editing brain starts screaming “sick or this!” If you don’t take a break it will punish you by letting stuff slide through! (Hope you’re refreshed by now)

It was actually pretty nice not to have to think about my book over the weekend. I’m back at it today and revving to go, though I really do need to work more on my yard. I’m using the excuse that it’s too windy. I might just blow away. 🙂
