Subscribe And Enter To Win!

I’m currently holding a paperback giveaway of Blood Promise to those in the mainland US! (I’m working on something for you international folks!) But, here’s the catch (yes, there is one). You have to be an Insider in order to get the details on how to win, because Insiders get special treatment. This giveaway ends December 1st.

How do you become an Insider? Simply sign up for my newsletter and BOOM! You’re an Insider. Pretty simple, right?

Also, as an Insider, I’m holding a contest for a prototype purse. There is ONLY ONE of these, which means whoever wins gets a one-of-a-kind design that will never be made again. This is open to international as well. This contest does require a purchase of the ebook (or actual paperback if you prefer), so if you’ve already bought the book, you might as well enter! This contest ends December 31st. Again, you have to be an Insider to get the details!

You want to know of another perk Insiders get? The full Prologue to Blood Ties rather than the first paragraph!

So you see? Being an Insider=special treatment.

And that’s not all! I have another HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT I’m going to be making to my Insiders that deals with the next book, Blood Ties. Like, maybe it has to do with a character’s name.

Ooohhh…what do you think that announcement is? I guess you’ll have to sign up to find out!

Here We Are To The Beginning Of Chapter 4!

So, here we are to Chapter 4 of Blood Ties. You’ll notice I have a word blanked out; that’s for those of you who haven’t read Blood Promise. I didn’t want to give out any spoilers for those of you who still need to read the book.

Chapter 4 First Paragraphs

“Why are we taking the elevator?” Crossing my arms over my chest, I blew my bangs out of my eyes and leaned against the side wall next to the control panel. A quick glance at my watch said it was already past two-thirty. My stomach growled, reminding me I’d need to fuel up soon. As a ________, I tended to burn calories at a fast rate. “It’d be faster to run upstairs.”

Ryk pulled out his set of house keys. “Because this is the fastest way down.”

“Down? You mean…there’s a basement?” I’d lived in this house for months now and never knew it had a basement. How did I not know that?

He inserted the garage key into a lock, twisted, and flipped a panel up to reveal a keypad. “You’ll see.”

My jaw dropped. “There’s a secret keypad? What else does this house have that I don’t know about?”

Hmmm….what is in the basement? Any guesses?

And here we are to Chapter 5 of Blood Promise

Enveloped in the scent of sandalwood, musk, and leather, either I was lulled to sleep or passed out as he carried me through the park.

Who’s carrying Tora through the park? I guess you’ll have to read the book in order to find out!

And don’t forget about the Blood Promise merch available now!

To get your hands on this baby, the cost is $18.99 domestic or $19.99 (USD) international through Paypal.  Shipping and handling is already included in the price. You’ll then need to email me at with ‘Purse Order’ in the subject line, and send me your name, address, and paypal email so I can link up payment with the correct name and address. If you don’t do this, I can’t send you the purse and your money will be refunded.

Blood Promise Updates and Merch Is Now Here!

Remember when I mentioned the vendor I was working with to create the Blood Promise purse? Well, here it is…the finished product. I had three designs to choose from, and decided on this one. What do you think? They’re only available for a short time, so once they’re gone…they’re gone and you won’t be able to get one. They’re hand made and about 7.5 x 7.5.  The cost is $18.99 domestic or $19.99 (USD) international through Paypal.  Shipping and handling is already included in the price. You’ll then need to email me at with ‘Purse Order’ in the subject line, and send me your name, address, and paypal email so I can link up payment with the correct name and address. If you don’t do this, I can’t send you the purse and your money will be refunded.

I’m also working on a freebie that can fit into a standard envelope and costs the price of a stamp. I’ll let you know as soon as I get that designed.

Are you one of my newsletter subscribers? If not, why? As a newsletter subscriber, you get a chance at winning one of the purse prototypes. Become an Insider today and learn more!

I’m  thinking about having a Blood Promise Paperback giveaway…details to come! You can also buy the book!

I’ve updated my website, so if you haven’t checked it out, hop on over and take a look around!

Blood Ties: A Clue from Chapter 2 and the Beginning of Chapter 3

Here we are to the beginning of Ch. 3. A lot has already been going on, notably the murder in the preface with Tora trying to figure out why the victim had to die and who the killer is. I’ll leave you with a clue at the end of Chapter 2, and the beginning of Chapter 3.

The clue at the end of Chapter 2:

He handles money by day and entertains whores by night.

He wants to be seen as a god for the rest of his life.

Only a god can be a god; a mere mortal cannot.

He never should’ve tried to become part of the immortal lot.

His choice comes with a penalty that can only be paid,

By ripping out the heart of the matter and placing him in a lowly grave.

Beginning of Chapter 3:

Ryk or Blaed…who to contact first? The midday sun streamed in through the library windows, thankfully not heating the cool room. Phone in hand, my finger hovered over the call button. Might as well be Ryk. I was fairly certain Blaed wouldn’t have ripped out a man’s throat and then sent an anonymous note reasoning why; he’d prefer an audience instead.

Hmmm…who is our killer? And why is he killing?

Which brings us to the beginning of Chapter 4 of Blood Promise

The force of the impact threw me through the air, knocking me right out of my shoes. For a fleeting moment, I had the sensation of flying before slamming head first into the marble moon goddess. I swore I heard something crack—myself included—and landed with a grunt on my stomach. My breath whooshed out, and I couldn’t get a breath in. I attempted to roll on my side so I could sit up, but nausea and lightheadedness overwhelmed me, and bile started to come up my throat. My vision wavered and blurred and then the pain set in. Hopefully, I wouldn’t pass out.

If you’ve already read Blood Promise, then you know what happens next! If not, then I guess you’ll have to buy the book to find out! Blood Promise is available at all the major sites.

Let The Darkness Begin

In a previous post I mentioned my current WIP Blood Ties and how Tora would be led down a dark path by the bad guy. Well, guess what? It’s not just the bad guy that’s going to be leading her down that path but someone she knows and actually likes. Someone who forces her to make a choice…kill or be killed. The victim is someone she put in the position he’s currently what will she do? Kill him to save her life, be the martyr and let herself die, or maybe there’s a third choice in there…a third choice that’s no better than the other two but a choice that might let her live to see another day and possibly end up saving the life of the victim too.

Hmmm…..choices, choices.

If you’d like to get your mitts on Book 1, Blood Promise, it’s available at Amazon, Apple, B&N, Google, and more and has received some favorable reviews.

Sweet 16

My youngest, Thing 4, recently turned 16 (though she thinks she’s going on 24). Where has the time gone? I looked through old pictures of her…missing her two front teeth, first day of kindergarten, and the list goes on.

It was a bittersweet day, as she shares her birthday with her recently-departed grandmother who she was very close to. So, while we celebrated her birthday, we mourned the loss of her grandma.

I took her and one of her good friends to Chicago where we spent the day. We checked out Noodles & Company, where we discovered their servings are huge! The three of us could have shared one bowl of noodles rather than each of us getting our own. For those of you who’ve never been there, I recommend sharing a meal if you go.

Afterwards, we headed out to the Nutella Cafe where we were met with a line that went around the building! I think we waited for at least an hour to get in, but Thing 4 had her heart set on going. We had the waffle with a side of ice-cream, which both were delicious. The waffle had fresh berries on top. It was a nice size in that the three of us were able to share that too.

The only store she made purchases at was Lush. Even though she had a decent amount of spending money, she decided she didn’t want to buy just anything in Chicago since she could get clothes and whatnot back home, but we don’t have a Lush close by so that was the only store she really wanted to go to. Other than that, we walked around and she took a ton of pictures, which a few of her pictures are going to be featured in an upcoming photography contest/show. Unfortunately I don’t have access to those pics so I can’t post them!

All in all, it was a fun albeit exhausting day! I wore very comfy sandals so my feet didn’t hurt, but her feet were killing her by the time we left. She wasn’t happy that my cheap Walmart sandals were more comfortable than her expensive Vans. -snerk.- I tried telling her not to get the Vans considering there isn’t much arch support in them, but I was basically talking to empty air.
